Objectives

Reflect on thankfulness; inspire discussions; appreciate accomplishments; get to know each other; decorate.

Group Size

Materials

Paper of various colors, scissors, writing tools, tape, a place for display.

Set Up

Tape paper on a window, wall, door or board to represent a tree trunk and branches.

Directions

Each person traces one of their hands and cuts out the shape. On it they write things they are grateful for. They tape the hands to the tree.


Debrief

At a gathering, each person reads what they have written and talks about it.

Alternatives

Instead of a tree, the central image can be a circle, a sun, or any symbol appropriate to the team. Instead of hands, the shapes can be leaves, stars, people figures, or any symbol appropriate to the team.
