Objectives

Group Size

Materials

None

Set Up

Get into groups of at least 5 people

Directions

Ask participants to find 3 things that everyone in the group has in common (e.g. 'everyone has been swimming in the ocean,' 'everyone is right handed,' and 'everyone brushed their teeth this morning' or some common things on their clothes, appearance, etc.) and something that is unique to each person in the group (e.g. 'plays cello', 'speaks Greek', 'was born in London')

Debrief

Debrief by discussing how many times we have more in common with others than we might think. While at the same time we have things that are unique about each of us. Sometimes bullies pick on people because they identify something unique about a person. Often bullies fail to recognize how similar they are to the person they are teasing or pushing around.
