Mission
The mission of Teampedia is to become the world's largest collection of resources (e.g. warmups, icebreakers, and other group facilitation and training activities) to facilitate teamwork, teambuilding, and community.

Goals
* To collaboratively develop, share and archive the world's largest collection of teambuilding resources
* To bring team leaders, team members, consultants, and facilitators together in a vibrant online community where all contributions are valued
* To help prevent team leaders and organizations from "re-inventing the wheel" every time they want to do a teambuilding activity
* To combine the power of teamwork and technology to generate and refine collective knowledge
* To support those working to promote deeper understanding, improve communication, increase enjoyment, build trust, resolve conflicts, and generally create more efficient, fun, effective, creative, harmonious, inclusive, collaborative, and enjoyable teams and communities
* To generate enough revenue for this website to be self-sustaining (including hosting and development costs)
* To respect copyright and intellectual property rights

History
* March 2006 - Teampedia was founded by Seth Marbin, and has grown with help from many team members.
* April 17, 2007 - Signed up for a Google AdWords campaign and began advertising for the site on Google search network
* April 19, 2007 - Signed up for a Google Analytics and started tracking visitors (avg ~50/day for the first week)
* April 29, 2007 - 00:54 the first day the wiki was spammed! :(

Inspirations
* Although Teampedia has no direct affiliation with the WikiMedia Foundation, or their project Wikipedia - the free online encylopedia, this project was heavily inspired by both.
* Most of the initial teambuilding activities on Teampedia were inspired by activities used at City Year (the nation's largest AmeriCorps program).
* The Teampedia logo was inspired by the Vanderbilt University Portable Group Challange Course logo.
The group is divided into pairs. Each pair has a period of time (over a meal, or you can limit it to 15 minutes) to find 6 things that they share in common. Once the time is up, if time permits, the pairs should share 1 or 2 things they discovered they had in common.
75.61.69.39https://www.teampedia.net/wiki/index.php?title=Group_Scrabble&diff=1956Group Scrabble2007-10-17T07:34:46Z
75.61.69.39: Undo revision 1946 by 74.231.24.2 (Talk)

Materials
- Index cards with letters of the alphabet on them
- a hat

Set Up
Each person picks a letter card out of the hat (if you have a big group, you will need more letter cards, and it is probably good to include a few extra vowels (A,E,I,O,U) and consider removing the X, Q and Z from the hat.

Directions
Tell the group their task is to arrange themselves into complete words given the cards they select from the hat.
The group can come up with several small words or just a few long words, but every letter needs to be included.
Once they are done, you can have everyone put their cards back in and re-draw, or move on to a new activity.

Once they are in their word groups, have participants do mini get to know you activities e.g. share your hobbies, the last book you read or movie you saw, your first memories as a child, plans for summer vacation, etc.
Set Up
* Create a master "bingo" card and make enough copies for each participant.
* The bingo card should contain a grid of squares each containing a statement or question that will apply to some members of your group and is in line with the objectives of your class, workshop, or event.
* For a few examples see:
** http://home.snu.edu/~hculbert/bingo.htm

Directions
Hand out the bingo cards and instruct participants to mingle around introducing themselves and finding other participants who can sign their cards indicating that a statement applies to him/her e.g. if one of the squares says "speaks more than one language" and you asked me if that applied, I would sign that square on your card. Typically it is best to limit the number of squares any one person can sign on each card, e.g. no one can sign more than 1 or 2 per card, to encourage people to mingle with more people in order to fill their card.

Alternatives
* Alternative Goals: You can set the goal that everyone should try to fill their card in the time alloted (recommended since this encourages the most discussion and collaboration), or you can choose to offer a prize to the person/people who finish first (encourages more competition and less discussion) or in typical bingo fashion, you can have the person who finishes a row first yell out "Bingo!" and win a prize (allows for least amount of dicussion, but also requires the least amount of time).
* Alternative Content: This can be adapted for almost any content so be creative e.g. squares can contain math problems, trivia questions, or personal statements such as "has lived in 2 or more countries," "doesn't have a profile on myspace or facebook," or "has stood up for someone else's rights."
One person is designated as "it" and begins a game of tag. One someone is tagged they become "it" as well and must become part of the blob by linking arms with the other people that are it. The blog continues to grow until it has swallowed all the participants.

Possible Risks
If not careful the blob can become an unintentioned game of "crack the whip" with people at the end of the blob being flung off. Encourage the blob to move at a speed safe for all participants. This can be fun to watch, a well thought out blob can slowly separate other players and surround them.
75.61.69.39https://www.teampedia.net/wiki/index.php?title=Captain%27s_Coming!&diff=1948Captain's Coming!2007-10-17T07:31:17Z
75.61.69.39: Undo revision 1938 by 222.221.6.144 (Talk)

Assign one person to be the "Captain." The role of the Captain is call out the actions and dismiss the players who don't do the actions quick enough or who break from character. Once the captain calls an action, each player has 3-4 seconds to start performing the action. If they don't find a group fast enough or perform the right action, they are out of the game.

Here is an explanation of each of the actions...
* Captain's Coming!: Everyone stands at "attention" (in a salute), and they can’t move from this position until the caller says, "At Ease!" If they laugh or break from the attention, they are dismissed.
* Starboard: Players run to the right.
* Port: Players run to the left.
* Lighthouse: Two players partner up. Put their arms up and hands against each other, and rotate in a circle making the noise “beep beep beep beep” (or whatever you think a light house would sound like!)
* Man Overboard!: Three Players group up. Two hold hands, forming the side of the ship. One player leans “over the rail” (the other two’s arms) and pretends to look out for the lost shipmate.
* Life Boat: Four players sit on ground in a line and pretend to row a boat.
* Chow Time: Five players sit in a circle and pretend to eat.
75.61.69.39https://www.teampedia.net/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Large&diff=1947Category:Large2007-10-17T07:30:32Z
75.61.69.39: Undo revision 1937 by 201.12.178.33 (Talk)
